Transportation office hours
The transportation office is open from 7:00am to 5:00pm on all school days.
Our office will be closed for the summer from July 1, 2025 to August 14, 2025.
If you require assistance on your forms, please email transportation@cesd73.ca or call and leave a message at 403-227-7072. Messages will be checked periodically over the summer.
A reminder to current Chinook's Edge families, effective July 1 a late registration fee of $50.00 per student will be added to all transportation registration forms. Students not registered by August 15 will be at risk of not having transportation until September 15.
On August 18 priority will be given to new families registering in Chinook's Edge to process registration forms before the first day of school.
Our bus driver start up is on August 26. All drivers will receive their route packages on that date and will contact families with times prior to the long weekend.
Bus Registration
Registration forms for the 2025 2026 school year are now available. If you select YES you require transportation on your school registration form a form will automatically be assigned to your SchoolEngage account as soon as forms are available.
Transportation registration forms for the 2025 2026 school year are available to families in their SchoolEngage account.
Transportation registration forms for families that are new to Chinook's Edge will be assigned to their SchoolEngage account when they indicate on the School registration form that transportation is required.
Reminder: All bus students are required to re-enroll for Transportation every year.
Current Students

When in your PowerSchool Parent Portal click on the "SchoolEngage" link on the bottom left hand side of the page, click the "students" tab on the left side of the page and choose each student individually. The form is accessible on the top right hand side of the screen. Click on the form labeled “2025-2026 Transportation Registration Form”.
New Students
New students to the Division who require busing will have to register through the school following this link New School Registration
If you experience problems accessing your PowerSchool Parent Portal please contact the school directly.
Please be aware that non-funded riders may be bumped from a seat on a bus throughout the school year if there is a need to create space for funded riders. If a non-funded rider is bumped, a prorated refund of the transportation fee will be provided.

Please note that only optional course fees and eligible transportation fees can be waived by the school division. Transportation fees not covered by this waiver include School of Choice and unfunded (do not meet the government distance criteria.

Restricted Items
Items being carried on the bus for school activities must follow the parameters required by Alberta Transportation under the Traffic Safety Act. Please check the list of Restricted Items. There may be additional items that Chinook's Edge determines are unsafe to transport. Please check with our office if you are unsure.

Please follow these instructions so that the APP pushes out important busing updates as they become available.
Urban shuttles are offered in the towns of Carstairs, Olds and Sylvan Lake.
Urban routes are posted early in a new school year.
Some urban stops are on rural buses. For those stops you will be contacted by a driver with your times.
Please note that scheduled times are approximate and may vary with the addition of new students. Be sure to have your child at the bus stop at least five minutes prior to the scheduled time.

First Rider is an event that introduces young children and their parents to school bus safety. This event is important for those taking the school bus for the first time.
During First Rider events, students get to:
- Watch a Winnie the Pooh school bus safety video
- Learn how to ride the bus safely when the bus is travelling
- Be shown how to safely enter and exit a school bus
- Be able to experience a short school bus ride
- Participate in an emergency evacuation
