Summer School

Welcome to CESD Summer School 2023!

Chinook's Edge School Division is proud to offer Summer School programming in three communities, making it convenient for students to take courses for credit. Summer School is available in Innisfail, Sylvan Lake and Olds. Students work under the guidance and supervision of teachers who provide assistance when needed.  Because the semester is extremely condensed, students must be available each weekday throughout the month of July.

Summer School 2023 Update

Great news! Chinook's Edge is now moving forward with plans to offer Summer School 2023 with the following conditions in place:

  1. Summer school 2023 will offer in-person learning at all three of our locations.
  2. We are unable to accept Summer 2023 grade twelve diploma course registrations (Eng 30-1, Eng 30-2, Soc 30-1, Soc 30-2, Math 30-1, Math 30-2, Bio 30, Chem 30, Physics 30, Science 30, etc.) except in extreme and unusual circumstances involving Fall 2023 post-secondary admittance or registration from students who completed grade twelve on or before June 27, 2023.

Dates and Times

July 3-28, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Monday to Friday (daily availability during these hours is required).

Courses Offered

Grade 10 & 11 core courses, Grade 12 non-diploma courses, CALM, Psychology, Forensic Science, and some CTS courses.

Registration Deadline

Wednesday, June 28 (no maximums on registrations).

Registration Open To

High school students (up to 19 years old), and students who will enter grade 10 in September.

Fees

No fees for CESD students. 
$40.00 / course for non-CESD students.

Typical Daily Work Load

Approximately 6-8 hours.
