Schools in Chinook’s Edge raise nearly $23,000 for cancer research through Terry Fox Run events

Chinook’s Edge was pleased to hear from the Terry Fox Foundation recently that our schools raised - collectively - $22,921.92 for cancer research, through events held in the fall of 2024.
Out of all the schools, the top fundraiser this year was Carstairs Elementary School with a $4,337.10 donation to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Carstairs Elementary Principal, Traci Upshaw, says, "Carstairs Elementary works hard to make the learning for students meaningful about the legacy of Terry Fox and we get great participation and engagement. Thanks to all of the staff who make this a great experience for students, and also thanks to students and families for supporting this good cause!"
Chantal Snodgrass, with the Terry Fox Foundation, said in her letter to the division that schools in Canada raised almost $14 million in 2024. She said, “Your family of schools sets a shining example of what can be accomplished with a focused goal and a collaborative spirit of generosity and determination.”
