AP 3 – 03: Adult Education Programs

PURPOSE

As per the Education Act, the Division shall exercise its discretionary powers and may admit as students, persons who attain the age of nineteen years of age on September 1 of the current school year.


SCOPE

This procedure applies to all staff and students.


DEFINITIONS

None


PROCEDURES

1. Adults who are nineteen years of age on September 1 of the current school year may be referred to further education or post-secondary education authorities in the event that they wish to pursue their education.

2. Adults wishing to complete high school courses may be admitted as students:

2.1 If space permits

2.2 Upon approval by the Principal

2.3 If they agree to abide by the rules of the school

2.4 Pay a fee comparable to current Credit Enrolment Unit (CEU) funding, unless provincial funding is available (operable on a cost-recovery basis).
