Students Matter

Over 40 student reps from schools across Chinook's Edge came together for a spirited Students Matter meeting at division office. Coordinator Patrick Mitsuing brought an Indigenous perspective to Students Matter sessions throughout the day, and other speakers focused on ideas to support positive mental health and the importance of attendance at school, and a sharing circle provided an opportunity for students to discuss their priorities. Students Matter reps are kind, compassionate, candid and determined to make a difference in their schools. They appreciate the work that is happening in schools to support students both academically and with social emotional needs, and feel that schools are a key hub for positive relationships.
