Greening our learning - and our world!
Tree time!
Shelah Medak, Division Office Reception, is helping package up the annual Arbor Day seedling delivery to all Grade 1 students in the division. The tiny trees are provided to Grade 1’s throughout the province by Alberta Agriculture and Forestry each year, to share the importance of healthy forests with young students. Arbor Day has been celebrated in Alberta since 1884, to help develop an understanding of the vital role each individual plays in the stewardship of our natural resources. In Alberta, it takes place as part of Alberta Forest Week during the first week of May. Seedlings for our Grade 1 students will be arriving to schools this week and next. This year, Grade 2 students will also receive their trees, as they missed the opportunity last spring when schools moved to online learning.
